Authorities with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department have identified a woman who died after hiking Mt. Cabot on Sunday. Danielle Amber Papa, 40, of Schaghticoke, N.Y., suffered a medical emergency while descending Mt. Cabot. She and her fiancé were on the Bunnell Notch Trail in Kilkenny when she started experiencing what fish and game officers called a “serious medical condition.” Her fiancé and other hikers performed CPR on her and a N.H. Army National Guard helicopter flew to the scene where a medic was lowered through the trees to render aid. She was lifted to the helicopter. After all the lifesaving efforts performed by the victim’s finance, other hikers, and rescue personnel, Papa did not survive. Her body was flown to the Berlin Regional Airport in Milan where it was transferred to a local funeral home.  The cause of death was not revealed.
