An elderly woman with dementia was found safe and sound on Monday

An elderly woman with dementia was found safe and sound on Monday after wandering away from her Ferrisburgh home. First responders spent much of the day searching for Beverly Ross, 81, after she walked away from home on Route 7. Her family called the police at 9 a.m. They didn’t know which direction she went but they knew she wandered off wearing her nightgown and slippers. Several police agencies helped with the search, using drones and K-9s to track her down. Around 2 p.m., Ross was found on Green Meadow Lane, about a half a mile away from her residence. K-9 unit Bruno and his handler, Ryan Frasier, found Ross. “Bruno picked up his head, he noticed her. She yelled from the tree line, and happy ending,”said Vt. State Police Tpr. Jacqueline June. Police said when they found Ross, she felt bad that everyone went out of their way to look for her.
