A Sheffield man avoided serious injury
A Sheffield man avoided serious injury on Tuesday when the vehicle he was driving left Rt. 122 in Wheelock and smashed into a guardrail before overturning between the road and Miller’s Run. Corey Raymond, 56, was driving a 2024 Subaru Forester south on Rt. 122 near the town line with Lyndon about 9:15 a.m. when his vehicle left the road and crashed. The vehicle came to rest on its roof and had a crunched front end. It sustained total damage. First responders determined he only needed to be freed from his seat belt. Lyndon Rescue took Raymond to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The trooper stated that the vehicle’s speed at the time of the crash did not appear to be higher than the 50 mph limit.
